WHY I MADE THIS.

There are more than enough QR generators on the internet. I kept finding ones that made a simple task annoying, though. Ads everywhere, links routed through a tracking service, or a payment screen when all I wanted was to download the code I had just made.

I wanted something I could open, put a link into, and get a QR code I could use. No account to create or subscription to think about. Making a QR code is pretty straightforward, and the basic generator costs next to nothing to host, so I figured I might as well build my own.

That became QRGen. The standard codes are made right in your browser and contain the information you enter. I don’t replace your link with one of mine, so a code you download doesn’t depend on this site staying around to keep working. You can save a PNG or an SVG and use it wherever you need it.

I also added AI styling because I thought it would be fun to see how much you could change the appearance of a QR code while still being able to scan it. It’s optional. Mostly, I just wanted a small tool that did what I needed without making a whole thing out of it. Hopefully you find it useful too.
